Hi Bryan,
If you are using the app with metric units then you cannot use decimal places. All the units are expressed as grams, which is about as granular as any home baker can really use.
Initially I did have decimal places for grams, but found that it did not really add value and was more of a distraction to reading the recipe. Most domestic scales (including digital) are not really good when you are measuring sub-gram amounts. When the app calculates an ingredient that is less than a gram it shows it as “pinch”. Which is really as accurate as is necessary in bread making.
Metric is the default unit system but you can change it to US Imperial from the “Setting…” action/menu off the main list of recipes. When in US units then you can use the decimal place as all units are expressed in ounces which are much larger than grams.
I hope this answers your question. If there is a specific reason you want this then let me know what you are trying to achieve and perhaps I can suggest an alternative solution.
Hope you like the app.
Sincerely,
Kon

Hi Kon,
Thank you for your quick reply. I should have been clearer on my first question. I was trying to enter a decimal in the Number of units field. I wanted to make 1.5 loaves because I had a small banneton I wanted to use in addition to my larger one. It’s my first time using the app so perhaps there is somewhere else I can do this. Thank you again.

Hi Bryan,
OK, I understand now. You’ll have to either put in one loaf with a unit size of the total weight; or put in 2 units at half the combined weight. It depends on how you plan to bake it off. If you can only bake one loaf at a time and want alarms for both loaves then use the second option, else the first.
Either way you’ll have to remember to scale the loaves off with the desired weights.
If you can bake multiple loaves at a time then remember to set that in the alarm settings and then regenerate the alarms. To do this: in the Reminder alarms section, tap on SHOW SETTINGS to expand all the settings; then change the “Units/loaves per bake” field to 2; then tap the “Regenerate alarms” button. This will then delete all the alarms for that recipe and recreate them based on the values in the alarm settings section.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Kon
